Continuum welcomes Lucy Walker as our first Composer in Residence (2025–2027).
Continuum is delighted to announce the appointment of Lucy Walker as our first Composer in Residence. Recognised as one of Classic FM’s Rising Stars in 2024 and praised by Bob Chilcott for music that is “beautifully crafted and full of light”, Lucy is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most distinctive emerging voices in British choral composition.
Based in Cambridge and originally from the North East, her work is already gaining national attention, with commissions from the BBC Singers, VOCES8, The Sixteen and cathedral choirs across the UK, alongside her ongoing role as Composer in Association with St Martin’s Voices.
As Composer in Residence, Lucy will create new works for Continuum and contribute to the next chapter of our artistic development. Her appointment marks an exciting moment for us as we continue to champion contemporary choral music and the composers who will evolve its future.
